At Affirm, we provide comprehensive, neurodiversity-affirming psychological, psycho-educational, and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults, offered in person in Virginia and Maryland and virtually across PSYPACT® states. Our assessments are designed to offer clarity, insight, and actionable recommendations tailored to each individual.

Our evaluations are comprehensive and go beyond a simple yes/no autism diagnosis.
We focus on the whole picture, including strengths, developmental differences, and any co-occurring conditions, to provide a meaningful and accurate understanding of the individual.
We guide families and individuals step by step, from the initial intake, through testing, to a comprehensive written report and personalized feedback session.
Our approach emphasizes collaboration, clarity, and respect for neurodiversity at every stage.
Session Format
We offer flexible assessment options, including in-office, in-home, and secure telehealth, based on the client’s age and individual needs.

In-person assessments are available in Maryland and Virginia. Virtual assessments available in participating PSYPACT® states.

In-home visits for children under five may be offered on a case-by-case basis. Format recommendations are reviewed during the initial consultation.
What to Expect
Our comprehensive assessments typically include:

Clinical Interview: We gather medical, developmental, educational, and emotional history.

Record Review & Questionnaires: We review relevant records and input from other providers (such as teachers or therapists) to clarify strengths and needs.

Testing: Standardized, age-appropriate measures assess cognition, learning, social communication, and emotional functioning.

Feedback Session: We review results, diagnoses (if applicable), and recommendations together.

Written Report: You receive a clear report with findings and recommendations that can serve as documentation for educational, workplace, or therapeutic services.
